| Gary Schutt was born and raised in Monticello, NY. Graduated from Berklee College of Music in 1990 and taught there for two summer semesters. After graduating from Berklee, Gary started producing his own tapes of original music that he sold at numerous record stores around the Boston area. In June of 1992, Gary was featured in the "Spotlight" column of Guitar Player Magazine. Gary moved to Los Angeles in August of 1992 to join Jeff Scott Soto's (former singer for Yngwie Malmsteen, Journey) new band SLAM. Gary soon showed up in Guitar for the Practicing Musician Magazine's "Resume" column in June 1993. First solo album "Sentimetal" was released in Japan & Europe featured Jeff Scott Soto as lead singer. His second solo CD "Playthings" was released in U.S. under Pulse Records. Gary has done numerous world tours as Jeff Scott Soto's bass player since 2001. Countries performed in - U.S., Australia, Brazil, United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Ireland, Italy & France. In 2000, Gary performed "Live Wire" as a medley on the Motley Crue tribute CD "Kickstar My Heart" on Pulse Records. In 2008 Gary performed the track "Carry Me Away" on the Rick Springfield tribute CD "Working Class Dogs" on Fast Lane Records. In 2008, Gary released his 7th solo CD, a guitar instrumental album called "Loss 4 Words". Guests include Neal Schon (Journey), Oz Fox (Stryper), Jon Finn (Jon Finn Group), Howie Simon (Jeff Scott Soto, Alcatrazz), Bryan Beller (Dweezil Zappa, Steve Vai, Dethklok) and Jeff Thal (Bumblefoot). All of Gary's CD's can be found on iTunes, Amazon, CDBaby and many other music distribiution sites. Durring his career, Gary has performed with Gregg and Matt Bissonette (David Lee Roth), Neal Schon (Journey), Eric Martin (Mr. Big), Robin Zander (Cheap Trick), Dave Meniketti (Y&T), Joe Lynn Turner (Rainbow), Ken Tamplin, Doug Aldrich (Dio, Whitesnake), Jimmy Paxson (Alanis Morrisette, Rod Stewart), Joe Travers (Duran Duran, Dweezil Zappa), Brian Tichy (Ozzy Osbourne, Billy Idol), Dorian Heartsong (Powerman 5000), Julie Greaux (Billy Idol), Bryan Beller (Dweezil Zappa, Steve Vai, Dethklok), Mars Cowling (Pat Travers), Chris Wormer (Charlie Daniels, Jo Dee Messina), and Paul Huesman (Michael Sweet). |
