MARCH 3rd 2008
Hey, it's been a while huh?  Well, look for tons of new marchandise this year and a new GARY SCHUTT BAND.  We had our maiden voyage gig at Boomerz on March 1st and although it was not flawless, it did rock!  The 30 min set included Drama Queen, Animal Man, Act Of Sympathy, Love Me For Me (NEW), Better (NEW) and Psycho Bitch.
Next out of the box is the long awaited guitar instrumental album "Loss 4 Words" featuring many other talents besides myself.  It's almost done.  A complete track list and guest list will pursue the release date and press release.
Shortly after that is the pre-curser to the next vocal CD.  The first single (which was released as a music video a few years ago on BrightHouse Networks and IdolUnderground and can be seen on YouTube), "Love Me For Me" will be released as a DVD single.  The one song DVD will have two versions of the video, audio commentary, 10 subtitled lyric tracks, a how-to-play-on-guitar video, a special DVD-ROM extras folder that includes the MP3, both video versions and the how-to-play videos for your iPod player.

AUGUST 1st 2007
I will be performing as bass player for Jeff Scott Soto once again on a short U.S. tour at the end of September leading up to the huge Melodic Rock Festival.  Jeff tour dates at his website.  Festival details at MelodicRock.com

APRIL 26th 2007
After months and months of mass emails and myspace bulletins the MusicNation.com video contest is over and my "Love Me For Me" music video ended week 12 at #38.  Thought I had a good shot when a month ago it peeked at #9!  Oh well.  Onward I go.
The song
"Love Me For Me" is currently unavailable on any of my CD's.  So for those of you who have been asking- it will be on the next GS CD, tentatively titled "PUPPETS IN SYMMETRY".  Actually it will be on the next after the next CD.  The guitar instrumental CD "Loss 4 Words" is first priority,  I managed to get a couple pretty big name guests to play solos on it.  Details coming soon.
I just finished a new GS DVD, titled
"HIGHWAY TO NOWHERE" which compiles all of my music videos to date onto one disc.  But here's the trick - it will only be available at my gigs, that included the Untouchables shows too.  You get 14 music videos for $15.  The videos include the new "Love Me For Me" (with alternate cut), "Baby Dinosaur" and 3 live songs with Jeff Scott Soto.
Also, (man, alot of news, huh?), the "Love Me For Me" video can be viewed on Tampa Bay cable provider BRIGHTHOUSE NETWORKS on the Tampa Bay On-Demand channel 340.

Yes it's been a while.  The cover band is gigging so much, it's keeping me from working on my projects at the pace that I'm used to.  But I do have some things ro report.  The Palisade CD is done.  A link to the CD page will be posted soon.  Also my Instrumental CD finaly has some new progress.  Howie Simon guests on one song and drummer Jeff Thal will appear on 2 songs.  Jeff is the brother of guitarist "Bumblefoot" Ron Thal who is currently on tour with Guns N Roses.  My bass player Chaz Dykes will appear on one song.  This will be the first CD of mine with other players on it since my debut CD with Jeff Scott Soto.  I'm planning on releasing both new CD's at the same time.
Also, a music video for a brand new GS song, "LOVE ME FOR ME", is in the editing process.

MAY 29th 2006
10 songs are finished for the GS PALISADE album. It's been great fun playing some of my favorite songs from high school and early college days.

I don't know why but it always seems that I finish the album artwork before I finish recording the album.  Well as I've stated previously I'm working on THREE new albums.  The Instrumental, still and always will be titled "LOSS 4 WORDS" had completed art from about 3 years ago when I was planing on starting the recordings.  The other two have undergone title changes.  First, the one with all new GS tunes initially was to be called "DAMAGE CONTROL", later was changed to "PUPPETS IN SYMMETRY" (perhaps I'll call the next one that - so don't steal it!!!! LOL!!!)  Now it is titled "CONTINGENCY PLAN".  The CD art is done except for the track listings and it looks fk'n killer!!  The other CD will be a compilation of some of my personal favorite GS tunes that I wrote in the 1980's.  Most of these songs were performed and recorded with my band PALISADE.  Since I didn't want to call it a GS album because my music has gone in a different direction, and since it's not a band album I didn't want to give it a band title, so for all intensive purposes I've thought the best thing to do is call it GARY SCHUTT'S PALISADE and title it after my debut cassette release, "LOST IN PARADISE".  The album art is a little more morbid than the original cassette art (which was done on a dot matrix printer and assembled at Kinko's).  You'll see it soon enough.  A preview web page will be posted soon with MP3's of the original recordings so you'll hear the old songs before the album is done, but when it's done you'll hear the huge difference in quality and performance with the new recordings

JANUARY 25th 2006
I had to write something since it's been a while.  I'm still working on THREE new CD's, but I'm not working constantly on them.  Some other projects have come up that pay $$$$, and I need that.  I'm recording a female country singer named Cat Valentine.  Anyone who knows me knows that I don't like country music, but the pay is good, it challenges my playing and it could lead to something.

I might release a CD-ROM of all my music videos plus bonus stuff in QuickTime movie, specificly compressed for the new iPod Video.  15 videos total.  If the demand is great enough I'll do it.

I had another fun weekend at 2006 Winter NAMM.  Got to meet and hang with Oz Fox of Stryper.  Very, very cool guy and one of my favorite guitar players from back in the day.
